I think your start is great! Adding pictures really makes a blog interesting. You don't really need anything important to blog about, just take a picture next time your doing anything (even just hanging out at home) and then put it on the blog. My blog is www.bradandjenfamily.blogspot.com and on it you can find links to a bunch of other blogs for more ideas.
I think this is cute, I'm going to start one for Allie. Thanks for the idea. Here are a few suggestions, but let me know what ideas you get. You could give different words or topics and they can write a few sentences about them. You can pick things that pertain to your life and home. Or a Holiday, or special event going on.
Another idea would be to gather clip all at once together letting everybody pick it out on various site ( I can get you it you need some), and then save them in files they can help you organize into folders with subject matter. Then each day you can pick a pic and they can write something about that pic.
You could mix and match a couple of ideas and come up with something that works for you.
Let me know what you come up with.
I don't recall American Prep doing a lot of creative, or free association.

My advice would be, keep it simple. My goal for my blog is to keep grandparents across the country up to date on our happenings. But if I miss something, it's okay! If I get behind, not a big deal! I just start from where I'm at when I feel like blogging. Most of the time, my kids inspire my blog entries :)
